Massachusetts Destination Imagination (MA-DI) hopes you've had a restful summer! The start of a new Destination Imagination season is rapidly approaching. MA-DI wanted to take this opportunity to communicate some important information on the upcoming DI season.
The MA-DI Regional Tournament Fee for the upcoming year will be $125 for early registration and $150 afterwards. This fee includes attendance at the 2nd Team Manager Training (formerly called Café 2). The first Team Manager training (Café I) will be free.
The dates of the team manager trainings are:
Team Manager Training I - October 20th at Grafton High School
Team Manager Training II - January 12th at Grafton High School
Another important change is the policy on appraisers. Due to shortages in appraisers at several tournaments this past year, MA-DI has had to revise our appraiser policy. Each team will be required to provide an appraiser (who has attended a MA-DI training) or be forced to become non-competitive at the Regional Tournament. To help with this additional burden on teams we have removed the requirement for appraisers to appraise at the tournament the team is competing at. Appraisers will now be allowed to select tournaments they are able to appraise at and be assigned according to tournament needs.
The Destination Imagination Challenges look terrific this year, for a preview of what we have in store for you check out: 2012-2013 DI Challenge Previews
The challenges are scheduled to be available shortly after Labor Day. Shop-DI is open and accepting Team Pak purchases, challenges and other related materials will be mailed out to coordinators after Labor Day.
